Packing for Your Move to Australia
As soon as your date of move is confirmed our International move co-ordinators will arrange for our of professional export packers to pack all your items. Ark Relocation utilise high quality industry standard packing materials.
We have specially designed boxes for your items including hanging wardrobe cartons, TV cartons, and bike cartons. Mattresses, sofas and other soft furnishing are wrapped in export wrap for protection.
We also provide a full case making service for valuable items, paintings and antiques.
Once everything is packed correctly our operatives will proceed to load all of your items into the shipping container. If you have a large volume to be shipped we will place you effects in a sole use container. For smaller shipments, we’ll place your items into a groupage container with other clients heading to the same destination.
This will save you money as you will only pay for the space used in the container. Our International move co-ordinator will work with you to find the most logical option for your move. This can include a combination of shipping and air freight if required.
Exclusive Use Container / Full Container Load (FCL) to Australia
If you are shipping your furniture and household effects in a sole use container, the container will arrive at your residence in the UK for loading by our removals crews.
Once the container is carefully loaded it goes straight to the port to be loaded onto a vessel. The sailing time from the UK to Australia is approximately 8-10 weeks.
Shared Container Service to Australia
A shared container or groupage service is a good option if you are shipping small volumes or if you are looking for a more economical way to ship your household items.
The approximate transit time for a shared container service to Australia is approximately between 10 – 12 weeks depending on the destination in Australia.

If your goods are arriving into Australia before you do, you can nominate a your family member or a friend in Australia to act on your behalf. In this scenario you must complete the Australian customs form B534 yourself before you depart the UK. You will also be required to present the following information to Australian Customs.

- Passport (Photocopy for Proof of identity),
- Inventory, of Items ( completed by our crew at UK address )
- Australian Customs B534
- Storage in Australia
